  2. Select the Grass cupcake wrapper (#M301BA).
  3. Locate ‘Create A Critter 2’ cartridge and select the lion image (#M3DED3).Your Cricut Explore Lion Cupcake Wrappers #papercraft #cupcakes
  4. The wrapper image can be re-sized to fit any cupcake either by first highlighting the image and then dragging the corner point: the size appears in a black text box as the image is altered: or applying a known measurement into the ‘Edit’ window.Your Cricut Explore Lion Cupcake Wrappers #papercraft #cupcakes
  5. Edit the lion topper image to cut only the head, as follows.
Hide the body layers of the lion topper image by closing the eye icon in the layers window for the image layer. With the image highlighted, ‘ungroup’ the image and separate the layers. Highlight the mane and tail tip image. Select ‘Contour’ in the layers window and click on the tail tip: this will erase the cut line for this part of the image, leaving the mane.Your Cricut Explore Lion Cupcake Wrappers #papercraft #cupcakes
  6. Reassemble the layers, drag a box around the whole image and ‘group’ the layers.
    Re-size the image.

  7. To personalise either image with a name:
‘Ungroup’ the images and separate the layers. Add a text box, choosing the preferred Cricut or system font that ‘has writing style’, from the dropdown lists in the edit window. Re-size the text to fit the image. ‘Attach’ the text to the image; highlight the whole image and select ‘attach’ from the layers window.
    ‘Group’ the images together.

  8. Select ‘Insert shapes’ and choose ‘Circle’. Re-size the circle to fit the back of the toppers.Your Cricut Explore Lion Cupcake Wrappers #papercraft #cupcakes
  9. Cut the images from the various shades of cardstock as required. Use the ‘project copies’ window in the preview screen to cut multiple projects.
  10. Carefully glue the topper together using PVA glue: there are marked lines to ease this layering process. Then use a hot glue gun and glue sticks to it to wooden sticks, sandwiching the sticks between the topper and circle.
  11. Gently curl the wrappers round and slide the hook end into the slot end, fill with a delicious cupcake and add the topper. Enjoy!
