Pretty as a Picture
Spell it Out
Spell out your Christmas wishes using balsa wood letters. Cover a ready-made card with brown paper then glue on a ribbon ‘clothes line’ complete with mini pegs and roses. Make your own mini tags to hang underneath and attach string to the letters before gluing on top of the tags.
In the Frame
Cover your card with pretty vintage look paper – think old fashioned roses, pretty birds or William Morris style patterns. Stick on an oval of brown paper and an adhesive frame. Add extra touches such as buttons, bows, silver pendants or even a black and white family photo.
Buttons and Bits
Cover your card with brown paper and edge with gold ric-rac ribbon. Cut out six equal size tags from white paper and glue down. Cut six tags out o semi-opaque patterned paper and glue on, just at the top. Add vintage-look covered buttons. Using Letraset transfers, add the word ‘Joy’.
Simple but chic, get the vintage look with a Merry Christmas sticker bordered by strips of soft pink ribbon. Then go crazy and add anything with a vintage feel – we love bits of lace, butterfly stickers, paper roses, patterned material or even bits of vintage style jewellery. Just be creative!
There are few things better than receiving a beautifully wrapped gift, and the vintage look is very easy to create. Plain brown or white paper looks great with a lace bow or a strip of patterned paper secured with string. Cut out cardboard letters or flowers as tags or use mini balsa wood letters.
Invest in a personalised wax seal and some gold or silver sealing wax to finish off your envelopes. For something a little less fiddly, why not try sealing your envelopes with pretty stickers? Give your envelopes the vintage style by lining the inside of the flap with patterned paper.
