Meet the Maker: Macramé Artist Isabella of Two Me
Fancy giving macramé a go but not sure where to start? Then get inspired by Isabella who has created Two Me where she runs workshops and creates amazing pieces.
How did you first get into macramé?
A friend of mine, a macramé artist, gave me a one-to-one lesson as a birthday present. 6 months later I started my blog following my creative journey to learn 12 crafts in 12 months and macrame was the first craft.
What’s your favourite thing to make?
I don’t think I can choose just one thing! I love making with my hands, from macramé to weaving, natural dyeing to candle making.
How many projects do you have at the moment?
One big macrame wedding backdrop, few wedding macramé props and some natural dyed items.
What other crafts are you into?
Weaving, natural dyeing, crochet, stamp carving, candle making and few others!
What’s your favourite thing you have made?
It’s difficult to chose just one but last month I made a big macramé using off white roving and I absolutely love it.
Where do you find your inspiration?
I find my inspiration from design, crafts and nature. I used to be an Interior Designer and that’s were I automatically look for inspiration.
What trends do you think will be big this year?
I think natural materials and colours will still be very popular.
What events have you got planned this year?
I’ll be running new workshops at Mercato Metropolitano in London as well as ‘learn 6 crafts in 6 months’ in Alresford & Wickham.
