How to Make a Gingerbread Mache House
Gingerbread houses are a wonderful part of Christmas! It’s so much fun to put together the gingerbread house using biscuits and sweets galore to then smash it and eat it, but it’s also a shame to see something so beautiful destroyed… Well, now you can make a gingerbread house that will last forever!
1. A great place to start on the gingerbread house is the roof. By using a thinner Posca marker, you can create a really beautiful, detailed roof full of tiles. 2. To create the look of snow on the roof, draw a squiggly line all the way around the edge of the roof. Use a thinner Posca marker pen to draw this fine line and then colour in this space using a much thicker Posca marker pen. 3. Lines, dots, swirls and hearts on the door, walls and window will give your gingerbread house a christmassy feel!
Top Tip! You could draw on your design using a pencil first, this will create a guideline for you to follow when you use the Posca marker pens. Top Tip! Do you want to add a little bit more to your gingerbread house? Why not glue some tracing paper on the inside to cover the windows and door! Create some silhouettes using some black card or paper. So when you place an electrical tea light inside, it will illuminate the silhouettes and bring them to life!
