How to Make

  1. Find a motif and print onto a piece of paper. Place the tissue paper over the motif and trace with the pencil.
  2. Sandwich the tissue paper and fabric in the embroidery hoop and gently pull it tight.
  3. Using an embroidery needle and assorted coloured threads, stitch the motif through the tissue paper.
  4. When the motif is completely stitched tear away the tissue paper to reveal.
  5. To neaten up the back, trim the fabric around the edge of the hoop. Then, either cut and stick down a piece of felt to the back of the hoop to hide the raw fabric edges, or use a long basting/running stitch through the ends and pull the thread tight to gather in the fabric, and tie off to keep in place.
