How to Make a Washi Tape Tree Card
Sometimes, despite our best intentions, we just don’t get round to making all those beautifully intricate Christmas cards that we plan to. That’s where washi tape comes to the rescue! Grab a couple of rolls of your favourite designs and create something magical and unique, with a washi tape tree card – it’s still handmade and still feels really special but it’s a breeze!

1. Draw a faint vertical guide line, marking the centre of the card. 2. Cut and stick six strips of washi tape to form the Christmas tree shape, making each strip slightly longer as you work down the tree. 3. Cut a final strip for the tree trunk. 4. Rub out the pencil guide line. 5. Position gold star toppers to decorate the tree. When you are happy with the layout, stick the stars in place.
1. Enlarge the Christmas tree template to desired size and cut out. Trace around the template on to a sheet of white paper or card. 2. Lay strips of washi tape diagonally across the Christmas tree outline, making sure you cover the tree completely. Cut out the tree shapes and put to the side. 3. Cut a rectangle of black card that is 1 cm smaller than the dimensions of the blank card. Position this centrally on to the blank card and glue in place. 4. Position the washi tape tree pieces on to the front of the card and glue in place. 5. Arrange gold star toppers to decorate the tree. When you are happy with the layout, stick the stars in place.
