How To Make

Cactus A

Body

Using yarn A and 4mm hook ch11

Foundation row:  1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each ch, turn. (10sts)

Row 1: 1ss into each dc, turn

Row 2: 1ch, 1dc into each ss, turn.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 until work fits around egg (approx. 28 rows). Sew cast on and cast off edge together and secure.  Using a running stitch gather the top of the egg cosy to close. Fasten off and secure.

Arm

Using yarn A and 4mm hook ch11

Work row 1 and 2 from the body until 12 rows have been worked.

Fold work in half with RS facing out and sew one short end together, then sew together the cast on and cast off edges. Before securing, pull the thread a little to gather the seam. This creates the bend for the arm. Once you have the correct bend, secure thread.

Make a small pom pom using yarn B and attach to the top of the arm.

Using the image as a guide, sew the arm onto the body.

Sew in all ends.
