How to Crochet a Mini Festival Bumbag
Don’t dampen your style with a boring backpack this festival season when you can hook up this tassel bumbag instead. Using 2 ends of yarn and a 6mm hook you will finish this project in an afternoon and be ready to add it to your evening outfit.
This pattern is written in US terms
Ch – Chain
Sc – Single crochet
Hdc – Half double crochet
Hdc2tog – Half double crochet 2 together
Slst – Slip stitch
Take 2 strands of cotton blend together
Sc in 3rd ch from hook
Sc to end of row,
Sc to end of row
Continue for another 12 rows (14 rows of sc in total)
Ch2, hdc2tog, hdc until you have 2 stitches left on the row, hdc2tog,
Repeat for another 2 rows
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Fold your work into thirds, starting from the bottom upwards and folding down the top envelope flap.
Ch1 and sc up along the side of your bumbag to join. Do not fasten off
For the strap –
ch1, turn and sc along 3 stitches.
Repeat for another 44 rows
Repeat these steps for the other side.
Fasten off and weave in ends
For the tassels – cut even lengths of yarn and loop through the bottom stitches of your bumbag alternately.
Cut and trim to length.
