How to Crochet a Bunny Bookmark

You Will Need Abbreviations

ch        chain

sc       US single crochet

 

st(s)     stitch(es)

How To Make

BODY

MC6, sl st to close. Ch 1.

Work 2 SC in each Ch sp (12 sts)

Work 1 SC in each Ch sp for 4 rounds

*work 1 SC in the next 2 Ch sp, work a SC decrease; repeat from * to the end of the round (9 sts)

Work 1 SC in each Ch sp

*work 1 SC in the next Ch sp, work a SC decrease; repeat from * to the end of the round (6 sts)

Work 1 SC in each Ch sp

Stuff the body with some Dacron or yarn scraps

Close the body by working 2 SC in the next Ch sp, working through both sides of the opening. Repeat this for the next Ch sp, and then work 1 SC in the final Ch sp to close the body (5 sts)

Work in SC for 36 rows, or until your bookmark is the desired length

Ch 1, urn. Work a SC decrease, 1 SC, work a SC decrease (3 sts)

Ch 1, turn. Work a SC decrease, 1SC (2 sts)

Ch 1, turn. Work a SC decrease (1 st)

EARS – make two

MC 4, sl st to join. Ch 1. 

Work 2 SC in each Ch sp. (8 sts)

Work SC in each Ch sp for 1 round.

Close the ear by working 1 SC in the next Ch sp, working through both sides of the opening. Repeat this for the next 2 Ch sp (3 sts)

Work SC for 1 row.

Ch 1, turn. Work a SC decrease, 1 SC, work a SC decrease (2 sts)
Ch 1, turn. Work SC for 1 row.

ASSEMBLY

Using the sewing needle, sew the ears to the top of the bookmark.

Make a 2cm wide pompom (I like to use a fork!) and sew it to the bottom of the bookmark

Sew on eyes and a nose, then weave in all ends.
