Five Intricut Penguin Die Ideas
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a penguin or two included in your handmade crafts! We’re head over heels with the adorable penguin die set from Intricut; with his dapper bow tie and rosy cheeks he’s sure to put a smile on any lucky recipients face.
There are lots of different ways in which the die can be used, from card making to wrapping paper, home décor makes to gift boxes. Here are five of our favourite ways to use this versatile die set…
Handmade Stamped Wrapping Paper
Die’s can be used for more than just cutting paper and cardstock, they can also be used to cut through foam! The resulting die-cut can then be adhered to a clear block to create a stamp for your very own handmade gift wrap. Simply grab your festive coloured paints and print away!
This little chap has been paper-pieced, which is a technique that uses both the negative and positive sections of a die-cut to create a complete design. This papercrafting technique and be used with pretty much any die, and is a great way of creating colourful designs for your projects.
Embossed Gift Box
Did you know that you can emboss with your dies as well as cut?! All you need to do is use a thinner shim when creating the platform sandwich and a sheet of foam, this variation is shim thickness, will reduce the pressure placed on the die as it travels through the die, which means the cut lines will leave an impression rather than cut all the way through.
Snowy Scene Shaker Card
Characterful die designs, like the penguin make ideal centrepieces for card designs, as penguins are most at home in the snow, we’ve teamed the paper-pieced design with our Frozen Wishes paper collection and some Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Jewels to create a shaker card.
Christmas Tree Decoration
If you’re after a quick and easy Christmas make, you can’t go wrong with this cute little cloche.
Die-cut your chosen design (along with all the components) from the same colour of cardstock and then secure inside your cloche. Add a sprinkling of faux snow, and the jobs a good ‘un.
