Meet Our Team: Emma Leith from Bristol
October is here and we couldn’t be happier! The nights are getting darker which means we get more time to snuggle on the sofa and get out our knitting projects. And it is the arrival of Wool Week which focuses on the importance of using wool and how it effects our farmers.
Emma Leith At Hobbycraft Bristol Imperial
To celebrate Wool Week we wanted to yarn bomb our stores. When I think about yarn bombing, one of the first people I think of is Emma Leith». She is an amazing crocheter and has recently worked on a yarn bomb bike project» for the Tour of Britain. So I emailed her to ask if she would be interested in helping us out and she said YES! I was over the moon that we could show some of her items and when she sent me a photo with what we could have I couldn’t believe it!
We arrived at Emma’s house on Monday morning and it was amazing! Her workshop room is full of colour from her crochet projects to her mosaics. If you have every thought about learning either of these I would check out her workshops» as they look amazing. She was so excited to meet us and couldn’t wait to help us set up the display in store.
When we arrived at Hobbycraft Bristol Imperial we were greeted by a lovely team and we all worked together to create an amazing display. The knitting department came to life with all the colours of the yarn bomb, from wire flowers on the signage to the workshop table being taken over by chairs and lampshades covered in crochet.
The display will be there until Sunday so make sure you get down there and check it out for yourself. Dont forget to share your photos with us with #knitcrafthq
