Add a ‘wow factor’ to your party by creating these fun cupcake wrappers and topper using the Cricut Explore and its on-line software, Design Space. With over 30,000 images available to choose from, you can create toppers to fit any theme.

Personalise either the topper or wrapper to make them into extra special gifts for the guests: the Cricut Explore will write and cut and Design Space will access both Cricut and system stored fonts.

3. The wrapper image can be re-sized to fit any cupcake either by first highlighting the image and then dragging the corner point: the size appears in a black text box as the image is altered: or applying a known measurement into the ‘Edit’ window.

4. To personalise either image with a name: ‘Ungroup’ the images and separate the layers. Add a text box, choosing the preferred Cricut or system font that ‘has writing style’, from the dropdown lists in the edit window. Re-size the text to fit the image. ‘Attach’ the text to the image; highlight the whole image and select ‘attach’ from the layers window.
‘Group’ the images together.

5. Re-size the topper image.

6. Select ‘Insert shapes’ and choose ‘Circle’. Re-size the circle to fit the back of the toppers.

7. Cut the images from the various shades of cardstock as required. Use the ‘project copies’ window in the preview screen to cut multiple projects.

8. Carefully glue the topper together using PVA glue. Then use a hot glue gun and glue sticks to attach them to wooden sticks, sandwiching the sticks between the topper and circle. Tie and curl curling ribbon in a knot around the wooden stick beneath the topper.

9. Gently curl the wrappers round and slide the hook end into the slot end, fill with a delicious cupcake and add the topper. Enjoy!
