How to Make

  1. Paint the letter ‘L’ with black paint and set aside to dry.
  2. Connect the Cricut Explore or Explore Air to the pc/laptop/Mac, log on to your Design Space account and open a new project. Add a text box; ’OVE’; and select the font and size in the edit window. This project used Folk Art Festival font and the letters were 2.5” high.

  3. Insert a heart shape and score line. Resize the heart to be approximately 1.2” x 1”. Place and resize the score line to span the middle of the heart: attach it to the heart image.

  4. In the cut preview screen, increase the project copies to ‘4’. Cut the letters from white cardstock and score and cut the hearts from red glitter cardstock; loading the score tool when prompted on screen.

  5. Carefully remove the cut images from the cutting mat using the spatula; this will minimise the damage to the image and mat.
  6. Tie a length of invisible thread around a small brad. Fold down the brad ‘legs’ on top of the knot.
  7. Use the scraper tool to fold and burnish the hearts. Carefully glue their backs together, inserting the loose end of the thread between them leaving a suitable length to fit inside the ‘L’.
  8. Use the hot glue gun and glue sticks to attach the brad to the letter.
  9. Use dimensional glue to layer the letters inside the letter.
