How to Make a Wand with Pony Beads
Looking for an afternoon craft to keep the kids entertained for an hour or so? These bead wands are a great make to do with the kids, and require very few materials to make them . . .
1. Start by threading a bead onto both pipe cleaners. To secure the bead in place, push the bead up the pipe cleaner approximately 2 centimetres from the end of the pipe cleaner. Bend the end up so that it loops over the bead, then thread on another bead so that it goes over the end of loop you have just made.
2. Continue adding on the beads until you’ve reached your desired wand length, making sure that there is at least 2 centimetres of pipe cleaner left at the end without any beads on. To secure the beads in place, bend the pipe cleaners over the last bead and thread back down in the next bead down, this will also help conceal the end of the pipe cleaner.
3. For a truly magical wand, I used a craft punch and some glitter card to punch out two star shapes and then attached them to the end of my wand using glue.
