Little girls will adore an enchanted princess party so create a magical setting with a fairytale tent, tiaras, wands and wings – and lots of pink!

Party Like a Princess

Most girls dream of being a princess and any party that allows them to indulge that fantasy is bound to be a huge success. Decorate the room with a fairytale tent (make sure to check out our Fairy Tent how to) and masses of cushions and make sure you include lots of pink!

No princess would be complete without a magical fairy dress, wings and a wand – all things that are relatively easy to make. Transform a 27 centimetre piece of doweling into a wand by wrapping with silver ribbon then sandwiching two large stars cut from silver card on one end. Add extra sparkle with 80 centimetres of tinsel-style wire, curled into ringlets and three feather streamers (each feather is a wish!) glued on to the end of sequined ribbon.

Theme the food too by using butterfly, flower or star cutters for sandwiches and pizzas, and ice fairy cakes in pink and white. All the girls will enjoy a bit of face painting so have lots of sparkly paint and glitter to hand to keep them amused with ‘Pin the wings on the fairy’. Truly magical!

Make fairy bread by cutting white bread into shapes with cookie cutters and spreading on apricot jam. Scatter sprinkles on a plate and press shapes, jam-side down, into them. Yum . . .

Princess Party

To make a fairy dressing-up box, give a cardboard box one coat of spray paint and leave to dry for an hour. Do a second coat and decorate with letters and flowers.

Hobbycraft Content Marketing Assistant, I'm in love with all things craft, vintage and floral. I spend my spare time visiting craft fairs in the south on the look out for something that's a little bit different. When not out exploring by foot I'm on my bike riding around the country side or down by the beach.
