Tell us about your favourite collection?

I love the New Fine and Dandy collection from Dear Lizzy with the interchangeable stamp set, heart foil stickers and fabulous paper packs!

What’s your favourite product in the new range?

It has to be the Wash tapes from “Little B”, such beautiful designs to bling up any card or personalise a notebook!

What are you most excited to test out?

Our New Fashion collections from America and our wide range of three dimensional Paperhouse stickers.

How long has it taken to pull together?

Over the last six months I have been gathering feedback from Papercrafters in Hobbycraft stores, working closely with our suppliers and even visiting The CHA show (Craft and Hobby Association) in California where I met with Designers like Tim Holtz and Shimelle to discuss future ranges. It has been so valuable and I’m really excited about all the great new ranges we’ll be bringing in, some of which will be exclusive to Hobbycraft.

What was the biggest challenge?

Making sure we are working fast enough to bring in as many of the latest trends in to our stores and onto our website as we can whilst making sure we’ve got space to put them all!

What’s the trend colour in paper craft for the summer?

Foiling is going to be huge! – Gold metallic is really desirable and you will find the hot items within our American craft collections.

We are also seeing denim, neon and pretty pastel shades coming through . . . . watch this space!

What’s coming next?

We will have some amazing WOW priced beautiful scrapbooks, Christmas papercraft where we have designed products in themes to make it easier for you to shop, look out for the woodland foxes, bears and owls! Or the shimmering snowflakes and bright stars!

New scrapbooking papers (120 in total), NEW and exclusive American Paper collection bundles!!!

What are you working on now?

Easter Papercraft for 2016! Working ahead is very important.

What’s your favourite technique/top tip?

My top tip would be when when you’re using liquid to create pearl effect shapes, simply tap underneath the card where the drop of liquid is and the pearl will become perfectly rounded!

My favourite technique is die cutting . . . I am loving using some of our dies to create lovely mixed media pictures and home decorations like bunting and lampshade covers, which give beautiful silhouette shapes.

I think the stamp range in Hobby craft is awful…you need a real update of the stock, there are so many ranges available to us these days, but as the largest craft retailer in uk, you dont stock any of them..stampendous, stampers anonymous, creative impressions, Sheena douglass to name a few..i would like to see a far better range, with better quality stamps and ink pads available in store,..i spend hundreds of pounds each year..on line!!! i know a lot of people who say the same..you are losing out on the custom because to dont have a variety of brands available

I appreciate this is 3 months on……but i see little change in the 3 stores i visit in a regular basis, one of which is a superstore…….. I find myself only visiting for offers and essesntials, as what is available is so limited, i also do 90% of my shopping on line. Shame, i used to love wandering around, filling me trolley with stuff i was convinced i needed, stuff i know i needed and stuff i wiuld find a use for…….
