It feels like spring is definitely with us – and the idea of parties in the garden is suddenly quite attractive – ideas for decorating have been bubbling in my head. It feels like the sky is the limit! (and time)

Now I thought it would be nice to join bunting with fairy lights – and I came up with the idea of making flowers from Spider Web Net which will be light weight and will easily fit onto the fairy lights.

You Will Need

How to Make

Cutting

1. Fan fold 15 layers of the net to cover the large flower – (10 cenitmetre width).

2. Place on the die covering the large flower, and cut.

3. Then put the remaining net over the small flower and cut.

4. Repeat steps one to three until you have the required number of flowers cut (12 for each large flower and 15 for each small one).

Assembly

1. Fold a flower in half.

2. Then fold it twice, into thirds, and then stitch the layers together.

3. String 12 large flowers, or 15 small ones together, and pull up tight.

4. Arrange flower around one of the lights and then loop thread between the wires and take three stitches through the flower to finish.

5. Hang your lights and party (please note – do not leave the lights on unattended!). Enjoy the party!

Now I said I’d get to the rest of the fabrics from the fat quarter pack didn’t I, and this is it – no sew bunting!

You will need

How to make

1. Cut two 12 centimetre by 45 centimetre strips and fuse both layers together with bondaweb.

2. Use Sizzix Bigz Die – Butterfly and the Big Shot Machine to cut four butterflies

3. Repeat until you have enough butterflies and peg to the ribbon – you can adjust the length for the space you have, and leave gaps for fixing
