How to Make a Personalised Anchor
Mache is a fantastic blank to work with for crafters of all ages – it’s inexpensive and easy to decorate. I took the new mache anchor and decided to get personal by making it into a nameplate for the bedroom!
Skill level: Beginner
Time to Make: 1 hour (plus drying time)
1. Paint the mache anchor all over with acrylic paint. You will need 2 – 3 coats of paint, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next. 2. Wrap a length of red rope or cord around the anchor, gluing it in place as you go. To prevent the rope/cord from fraying, wrap the cut ends tightly with a small piece of sellotape, before gluing in place. 3. Apply alphabet stickers to personalise the anchor with a name or message.
