How To Make A Neon Pop Granny Shawl
Emma from Steel and Stitch has created this traditional shawl with a modern take. She wanted something cosy to wear but still had an edginess to it.
Ch – chain
Tr – treble crochet (US Double Crochet)
Ch sp – chain space
Ss – slip stitch
This is a basic, granny square pattern, just worked in a triangle shape.
Yarn A, ch4, ss to form loop
Row 1: ch4, 3tr, ch3, 3tr, ch1, tr in top of start ch
Row 2: ch4, turn, 3tr in ch sp, (ch1, 3tr, ch3, 3tr) in next ch sp, ch1, 3tr in ch sp, ch1, tr in top of start ch
Row 3 – 21: ch4, turn , for each row 3tr and ch1 in each ch sp, (3tr, ch2, 3tr) in corner, tr in top of start ch to finish
Rnd 1: Using Yarn A, work a tr in each stitch and tr around ch1 from last row. In corners (2tr, ch2, 2tr), ss and fasten off.
Rnd 2: Using Yarn B, join on in any st, ch2, work a tr in each, in corners (2tr, ch2, 2tr), ss to finish and fasten off.
Block according to manufacturers instructions.
