Valentine’s Day is all about hearts, so it seems rather fitting to make your card shaped in a heart, and full of heart confetti! Die cutting is an easy way to achieve a precise shape, and all you need is some heart shaped sequins or confetti to complete your confetti heart card.

How To Make

1. Select the largest heart from your Sizzix Framelits Die Set and die-cut 2 hearts from the white card, one from the ‘love’ paper design in your Dovecraft paper pack, and one from another paper of your choice. Used here was a pink striped design.

2. Take the ‘love’ paper heart and glue to one of the white card hearts ensuring the edges line up correctly.

3. From this heart you will need to die-cut a smaller heart in the centre to make a window frame. Select the heart Framelits two sizes down from the largest, position in the middle and run through machine twice. Keep this inner piece to one side for now.

4. Next, using the Framelits size between the two just used, die-cut one heart from the acetate and one heart from the pink striped paper.

5. Position and stick the acetate piece behind the ‘love’ heart window frame by gluing or taping close to the edge, and place on the table front side down.

6. From the ‘lips’ paper design in the Dovecraft paper pack, cut out several of the lips in a colour of your choice.

7. Now scatter them picture side down in the centre of the window and add the sequins. At this stage you can add additional confetti pieces, i.e. chunky glitter, foil pieces or perhaps some caviar beads.

8. To seal the window, glue or tape round the very edge of the acetate and stick the pink striped paper heart behind, pattered side down.

9. Next, take the small ‘love’ heart left over from the window frame and attach the end of the ribbon to the centre using tape. This will need to be hidden, so cut the same sized heart from the pink striped paper and stick to reverse making sure the edges match up.

10. Position the inner heart back in the window, loosely loop the ribbon over the top and attach with tape near the top.

11. Trim ribbon and cover back by sticking down first the large white card heart, then the large pink striped paper heart, again lining up the edges.

Your confetti card is now complete. You can use it as a postcard by writing on the reverse, or write a secret message on your window using a permanent pen.
