How to Make

Cover

  • Row 2 (WS): Purl.
  • These 2 rows form the stocking stitch pattern.

  • Knit every row (garter st) for a further 3in (8cm).

Finishing

  1. Darn in loose yarn ends.
  2. Fold cover in half lengthwise with RS facing.
  3. Join the long side seam using mattress stitch.
  4. Place the cover on a hard surface and flatten it, making sure the seam lies to one side. Sew the bottom, cast-on edge seam so you have a rectangular pocket.
  5. Turn RS out and pop your hot-water bottle inside. Tie the ribbon around the neck of the bottle.
  6. Position the buttons randomly around the front of your bottle. When you are happy with their position, sew on firmly with the sewing needle and cotton.
