You Will Need

Abbreviations

Sts – Stitches

P3tog – Purl 3 together

Yo – Yarn over

Kfb – Knit into front and back

 

How To Knit A Christmas Tree

Using 4mm needles and yarn A and B together cast on 12sts

Row 1 (WS): Purl

Row 2: k2tog, k to last 2 sts, k2tog (10sts)

Row 3: Purl

Row 4: k2tog, k to last 2 sts, k2tog (8sts)

Row 5: purl

Row 6: k2tog, k to last 2 sts, k2tog (6sts)

Row 7: purl

Row 8: Cast on 2sts, k to end (8sts)

Row 9: Cast on 2 sts, p to end (10sts)

Row 10: k2tog, k to last 2 sts, k2tog (8sts)

Row 11: Purl

Continue to work Row 10 and 11 until 4 sts remain

Next row: Cast on 2sts, k to end (6sts)

Next row: Cast on 2 sts, p to end (8sts)

Work rows 10 and 11 until 4sts remain

Next row: k1, k2tog, k1

Next row: Purl

Next row: k3tog

Fasten off

 

Making up

Using double sided tape place small stripe around the edge of the tree. Make sure to reach the edges. Then remove the backing of the tape and place onto the blank card.
