This fabulous granny square blanket pattern was designed by one of our lovely Facebook followers, Karen Henry :

This is a UK pattern for a king-size crochet blanket, measuring five feet, four inches by five feet, three inches. It’s 17 squares long and 16 squares wide.

It is made up of 62 white squares, 105 cloud blue Squares and 105 denim squares.

You Will Need

How to Make

Each chain is counted as a stitch throughout.

  1. Ch4, sl st to join.
  2. Rnd 1, ch3, 11 trebles into the ring, sl St to join. 12 stitches.
  3. Rnd 2, ch 3, 2 trebles into each stitch. 24 stitches. Sl St to join.
  4. Rnd 3, ch3, 2 trebles into the stitch space, ch1, 3 trebles, ch1 to the end. 36 stitches. Fasten off and weave in.
    Change colour.
  5. In stitch space ch2, 2dc, ch1, next stitch space, 3dc, ch1. Corner is, 2 half trebles, 1 treble, ch3, 1 treble, 2 half trebles. Then repeat ch1, 3dc etc till you have a square. Fasten off.

The squares are made up individually and then double crochet them together in rows.
