How to knit a Day of the Dead Mason Jar Cover

How to make
Using a 4.5mm crochet hook and pink ch 42sts and join into the round. (make sure not to twist the round)
Ch3, miss first st and tr into each stitch until the end, ss into top of 3 ch
Continue for 11 rounds in total
Skull (make 2)
Using 4.5mm needle and white yarn ch4 and join into a round.
3ch, 9tr, ss into top of 3ch
3ch, 2tr into each tr, ss into top of 3ch
2ch, 4dc, 2ch and turn
4dc and fasten on
Flower (make 2 in yellow and green)
Ch6 and join into a round
*Ch2, 3tr into the ring, ch2, ss into ring* repeat until 5 petals have been worked
To add the face to the skull thread up the black yarn and sew a horizontal line 1 st in on the first row of dc. Then sew 2 vertical lines so they sit inside of the horizontal line.
For the eyes create a cross in line with the first round of trebles.
Place the skull in the centre of the cover and chain stitch into place. Then sew a flower to the top right of the skull and another flower to the bottom left.
Repeat this on the other side of the cover and then place onto your mason jar.
This pattern can be used for lots of different colourways. Mix up the base colour and flowers to create a collection of jar cover.
